Portland, Oregon (February 2021) – TiE Oregon and the TiE Oregon Foundation Add New Members to its Board of Directors

TiE Oregon and the TiE Oregon Foundation are pleased to announce the appointment of three new members to its Board of Directors. New board members include David Smith PhD, investor and advisor with a background in the semiconductor space and Lateef Jackson, entrepreneur, advisor, and investor focused in healthcare technology who will serve on the TiE Oregon Board. Rob Johns, member of the Benson Polytechnic Alumni Association, and First VP and Producer at Crystal/Alliant Insurance Services will serve on the TiE Oregon Foundation Board. Each will serve a two-year term. With this, 42% of the TiE Oregon Board will be of minority descent and 58% women.

In addition, three members were re-elected and will serve additional terms on the TiE Oregon Board, Greg Block, Robin Jones, and Brigitte Piniewski MD. Additional board members include Brent Bullock, Ana Chaud, Diane Fraiman, Kalpana Merchant, Jill Nelson, Nitin Rai, and Nita Shah.  The TiE Oregon Foundation Board also consists of Shashi Jain, Robin Jones, Trish Langman (exofficio), and Nitin Rai.

“I look forward to welcoming David, Lateef, and Rob to the boards. They bring a wealth of hands-on entrepreneur experience and are a tremendous asset as we continue to work through the challenges and yet opportunities, brought on by the COVID pandemic,” said Nitin Rai, President of TiE Oregon.

The TiE Oregon Foundation and TiE Oregon Board of Directors is comprised of successful entrepreneurs and operators from the medical, bioscience, semiconductor, sustainability, food, and technology industries, venture capitalists, and angel investors. It is the Board’s responsibility to provide guidance and direction as well as to raise awareness of TiE Oregon’s services to the entrepreneur community.
